Our commitments on data and control

01

Data on your servers

Stored on the institution’s own servers in Egypt, or the government cloud if preferred. It never leaves the country.

02

Models run locally

Karnak or open-weight models run on the institution’s infrastructure. No foreign cloud service is required.

03

Egyptian operations

Staff with system access are based in Egypt and open to security review.

04

Full audit trail

Every query, AI answer and human action is logged and open to authorised units.

05

Source-code escrow

Egypt-specific code and configuration are held in Egypt, so the state can keep the system running.

06

Reviewed updates only

Only software updates cross the border, after security review. No data flows back out.

Security questions

Where exactly is the data stored?

On the institution’s own servers in Egypt, or the government cloud if it prefers. We keep no citizen data on our own systems.

Who can access it?

The institution, and named Egyptian staff cleared for the project. There is no access from outside Egypt.

Who holds the encryption keys?

Keys are generated and managed in Egypt by the institution. We never hold them.

Does it need a foreign AI service?

No. Models run on local servers, and the system can run fully isolated, with no calls to services abroad.

Is citizen data used to train AI?

Never outside the institution. Any tuning happens on its servers, and the tuned model stays there.

What if the relationship ends?

Code is held in escrow in Egypt, there is no remote switch-off, and Egyptian staff are trained to run the system.

Could the AI give a wrong or sensitive answer?

It answers only from content the institution approves. Off-topic or political questions go to a person.

Which rules does it follow?

The Personal Data Protection Law, Supreme Cybersecurity Council and NTRA rules, and Egypt’s Responsible AI Charter.
